When Will I See You Again

The Three Degrees - When Will I See You Again 1978

The Three Degrees- -When will see you again

When Will I See You Again Lyrics
By The Three Degrees

When will I see you again?
When will we share precious moments?
Will I have to wait forever?
Will I have to suffer and cry the whole night through?

When will I see you again?
When will our hearts beat together?
Are we in love or just friends?
Is this my beginning or is this the end?

When will I see you again?
When will I see you again?
When will I see you again?

Precious moments

Are we in love or just friends?
Is this my beginning or is this the end?

When will I see you again?
When will I see you again?
When will I see you again?

The Three Degrees
are a female Philadelphia soul and disco vocal musical group, formed in 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although always fronted by a three person line-up, there have been a number of personnel changes, and a total of twelve women have represented the group so far. The original members were Fayette Pinkney, Shirley Porter and Linda Turner. The trio, tagged by the media as 'Prince Charles's favourites' in 1974, were the first girl group to top the UK Singles Chart since The Supremes in 1964. They are best known for their million selling 1974 hit song, "When Will I See You Again".

"When Will I See You Again" was a hit 1974 song performed by The Three Degrees and written and produced by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. It was one of the most successful recordings of the "Philly Soul" era, and in the US, the song reached number one on the adult contemporary chart, number two on the pop singles chart and disco chart and number four on the R&B chart. In the UK, it fared even better, spending two weeks at the top of the British pop chart in August 1974.

Sheila Ferguson recalled that "the song was played to me by Kenny Gamble at the piano in 1973 and I threw a tantrum. I screamed and yelled and said I would never sing it. I thought it was ridiculously insulting to be given such a simple song and that it took no talent to sing it. We did do it and several million copies later, I realized that he knew more than me."
